K8-8K

I'm so proud of my hubby, today! He ran his first 8K (his first K period) and had a pretty good time. I'd post his time, but he's a little, sigh, competitive, and I'm not sure he wants that info out there. Anyways, I'm so very proud of him.

Here's the thing about fellas, though - I've been "in training" for 7 weeks to run an itty bitty 5K. What does he do to train for his race? Nada. Oh, wait, I think he might have jogged on the treadmill at the gym a couple of times. Still doesn't count. Oh well, he says that this was his last race anyhow. So, I'm done with the fussing.

This is the only photo I took before my camera died. The funny expression is due to the fact that he was chatting and fiddling with his borrowed ipod. (It belonged to the wife of a friend. I asked him if he got to listen to Air Supply and Celine Dion for the whole 5 miles. Haha , I'm hilarious.) The runner next to him is Alan Bigham and the chick in the white cap and light blue shirt is Kim Shumpert, who ended up beating them both. :-)
