Ten Things Tuesday

XBOX Wife Ten Things Tuesday

Mom starts back on chemo tomorrow, so that's what is on the old mind today. Here are 10 things to be thankful for during this illness:

  1. Mom has a convenient excuse for all goofy or forgetful behavior - "chemo fog".

  2. She has officially had the most consecutive "good hair days" our family has ever had.

  3. I've learned some really big words.

  4. Vanity goes and isn't really missed.

  5. Empathy. I simply didn't get it before.

  6. My mother realized how many people out there truly love her.

  7. All the cards and phone calls. And food and flowers. And hugs and visits.

  8. She has become a lot more vocal about her faith.

  9. The blessing of intercessary prayer.

  10. That our world and our bodies may fail us, but God never does.

What a great list. I'm glad you're able to see some humor at such a time--I'm not sure I could do it. It says a lot about your faith, and your mom's.

God Bless.

Probably your best ten ever. Thanks for continuing to be an example to me of how to be thankful in all circumstances.

The beach photos are beautiful..esp. the candid ones of the girls! Your list for your sweet mom is precious. In a trial it is always hard to see the bright side, but your list is perfectly bright. Both of you are in my prayers.

I loved your list! Your mom is amazing, we pray for her always, and her incredible family. It looked like you all had a great vacation. The pictures were beautiful, they make me a little green eyed. We have 8 more weeks till we can go, but who is counting. I'll be in touch soon about a dress. Jana Sheppard

Thanks for such a prompt reply! Your friend's name choice gives me the confidence I was looking for to go without the hyphen. Thanks for passing on the info. :)

PS - I'm with mzzterry - those beach pix are awesome! My bunch has a hard time with family photos - could we not be silly for just one second please? Your girls look like naturals in front of the camera. Consider yourself blessed!
