First off, this morning I hear Jeff in the living room say,"Saved by the Bell! Oh, I love this episode!" For those of you who know my husband, you might be surprised by this declaration of love because
a) he's really not very enthusiastic; rarely does an exclamation point sneak into his speech and
However, if you really knew him, you would know that he harbors a dark secret. And that secret is ... he aspires to be Zach Morris, complete with enormous phone, closet full of "jamz", and band named Zach Attack. Oh, and let's not forget a certain girlfriend named Kelly Kapowski. (It's possible, although he denies it, that when we were first married I still might have come in second to her in his affections.)
Back to the episode, it was one of my personal favorites. The reasons are 2-fold:
- It's the one where they do a hip-hop/rap version of Snow White. C'mon, that in itself is hilarious.
- Jesse and Zach kiss. Remember that?
We decided that this was the perfect opportunity to share the Saved by the Bell experience with our girls. So, we did. All 4 of us in the living room (Eliza was asleep) watching some CLASSIC television.
What a special day.
p.s. the only one that was better? The "I'm so excited... I'm so scared!" episode. That was a doozy.

I have seen EVERY episode of Saved by the Bell and the "I am so excited" is by far my favorite!!
Heck yeah! That is the best one, hands down. I once saw a t-shirt that said, "I'm so excited...I'm so scared!" and I really, really wanted it. Could not justify that expense to my husband.
Saved By the Bell...a classic! It just wraps up our entire childhood, doesn't it?
Saved by the Bell and Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Was there anything better? (Oh, and when we were first married, I had to share my husband's affections with Heather Locklear.)
I once talked to Elizabeth Berkely on the phone and all I wanted to say was, "I'm so excited...I'm so excited...I'm so...so...scared!"
Ok. This is funny. I grew up without cable (too far in the sticks, you know what I mean) so I missed this whole craze. Until I got married. Matt LOVES this show and makes me watch it STILL. Oh, and 21 Jump Street. But I suffer silently since that one has Johnny Depp in it. :)
Oh my -- I knew both of those episodes you wrote about. I did love the "I'm so excited..." the best though. Good memories!
