First day of ballet

Today was our first day of ballet. I say our because this was the closest I've ever come to ballet lessons. I learned a lot.
I learned that ballet shoes must be pink.
I learned that French is the language of the ballet (which meant that I didn't understand a word of what they said Sophie would be learning. Sandi, where are you when I need you?!?!)
I learned that it's very difficult to get my daughter's hair into a bun, so we settled on a wad.
I learned that wearing your ballet uniform to Chik-fil-a will earn you plenty of smiles and compliments. I'm pretty sure today was a success based on the Chik-fil-a experience alone.

In other news, I ate about a hundred funyuns today. Oh me, I love a funyun.

Overheard:
"Mommy can you get me a city, please?"
Me - Why do you need a city?

Wait for it...

"For my city player."

Get it? City (c.d.) player?

Ah, some jokes never get old. :)

Oh, I am so glad you guys had a great first day. Today is our VERY first day, and I am little anxious, the girls are pumped. We tried on their "gear" and it is perhaps the cutest thing I have ever seen.

That's hilarious! 'City' player. Love it, love it. And, you *don't* want to hear my story, it's not really that interesting.

Tell the little City listener to have a blast!!

I can see why you got looks in Chick Fil-A! She looks adorable!!! I think the wad is MUCH better than a bun!

Awww, she looks so big in her ballerina outfit.

As for the wad, amen sister. I saw a little girl at the store today with her hair all cute and fancy and thought that I would be a horrible mother of a daughter. Mine would be the stringy haired ragamuffin because working through tangles is about all the fancy I'm capable of.

Sophie is so adorable! I'm sure she is going to be an awesome ballerina! I think that getting to wear the clothes is the best part of it!

I think the "wad" is very cute and quite trendy. Who needs a bun? They're overrated.

My goodness... she is such a doll. And NO girl in our family ever had a smooth bun... only ever wads. Which is why I cut all my hair off and bought a monstrous flat iron.
Anyway, she's precious.
