Need help

This Saturday is Stop, Shop, and Stroll. I am a little stressed and ever-so-slightly behind with the dress-making, but that's cool. This ain't life or death, man.

Here is my delimma - I have a booth. Which means .... I have to set up said booth. Those of you who know me, know that this is my greatest nightmare. I have NO INNER VISION. Never give me a blank canvas, people.
Here is what I have to work with:
a table
some tall things that look like the sides of crates (courtesy of Mrs. A. Barrett)
Aaaaannnnnnnndddd ....... that's it.

Help! What should I do? IF this were you, how would you set it up? I have about 15-20 dresses to show, and I need to display my book of work and take orders.

IF this sounds like so much fun to you, we can have a date! Meet me at Highland Drive Baptist Church on Friday at 5:30, and we can knock this out and then I will pay for your supper. WOOO HOOO!

I'm a little desperate, folks.

Oh, and sorry for saying "ain't", Mom!

Sorry...I am a little too far for the date, but you could use some cute material to cover that two tall things that look like the sides of crates and pin some of your pieces on it to display. I guess you could even have a sign made with "Little Show-offs"?? I guess you could cover the other table with a table cloth, like a solid, and then make your book the center piece with maybe some fall decor like little pumpkins and gourds..and then maybe display some more of your outfits, etc on the remainder of the table...Maybe a refillable candy dish?? I so don't know...just ideas! Good luck, hope you sell lots!!

It actually does sound like fun to me! :) If, and that's a big if, I'm not stuck finishing up some cakes, I would love to help.

I'll let you in on a little secret...

I have NOTHING done! Zero, zilch, nada. Well, I have my business cards in, and sort of an idea for what I want to do. :-) Hope that makes ya feel a little better.

I don't have ideas for you (sorry) but I am glad that you posted this because it sounds like fun and I want to check out your booth on Saturday. Good luck!

I've done plenty of vendor booths in my time and I think the key is to make your booth look interesting. Show those dresses and if there is a way you can get internet access, have your blog up or a slide show going. If not, just bring a book of all of your work or what you can do.

Unfortunately, at most events like this, people are all about Cash N Carry so people may not want to wait until the dress is done. I have a friend that participates in a fundraiser at the local Christian school who make pillowcase dresses. She does pretty well. You'll have to let us know how it goes.

But you are very creative and I know you won't have any problems making the booth look great! And yes, DO NOT forget your business cards!

If you need some fixtures to hang your dresses on..I could lend you some 3-ways from work..Just let me know. I work 8-4:30 on Friday, if I am feeling better.

Man I wish I could come help! I live for that stuff.;)heh Id' find something to stand behind you, like chicken wire or something like it. That way you can drape fabric over it (or weave it through the holes & still hang dresses on it. Good luck!

If you have a book, display it on a cookbook stand so people can leaf through it & look at designs? And if you have a laptop to play *low volumed* music on & show them your web page/designs online too??

I don't live close enough to help, but I know you have a million creative friends and you will have the BEST booth EVER! Can't wait to see pictures of it.

What a great idea about the Harding vendor booth! Getting a number of alumni to come and display their products. Homecoming would be a great time to do it. A great time to visit with friends and better yet, you can write off the trip!:)

So, how did the event go? Did you take a picture of your booth? I'd love to see what you ended up doing.

How'd it go? I'd be of no help, unless I could spray paint something. :)
